Our family had a death in the family last week. It was unexpected. It was sudden. It was tragic. My brother-in-law passed away from cardiac arrest, a day after reconstructive knee surgery and immediately after receiving the “all clear” and returning home.
As we dealt with the shock of the situation, which soon turned to a combination of shock and grief, we all found ourselves sharing stories and memories. Some of these were from years past, and others mere days ago. They were all connections we had with Scott, and they are all things that we’ll take with us and we work to fill the hole in our hearts in the days ahead.
While I could make the connection to Change Management and the importance with building connections, I won’t. I’ll let you do that if you choose. Instead, I’ll encourage you to make connections. Make memories. Live. Do something. That’s what will hold value. That’s what you (and your connectee) will treasure for the rest of your lives.
